We have now setup base camp in the 1-bedroom apartment. We are told by Luther staff that we may perhaps possibly begin our ascent to the 3rd floor next week, but we expect we won't summit for a couple weeks.
Holden celebrated the occasion by figuring out how to propel himself forward on hands and knees (crawling).
Yay! Self propulsion!

Hints to follow about Burntvedt ground floor apts:
ReplyDelete1) Birds sometimes fly into the furnace chimneys and then into the furnaces and thus into your apt. Close all the drapes, open your door, and tell them to "go toward the light." It usually works.
2) Watch for flooding water near the "Burntvedt River" during large thunderstorms.
3) Enjoy the somewhat comfortable temps now being on the ground floor. Floor three gets HOT in the summer (but the advantage is that you'll have much lower heating bills in the winter.)
