The big NW storm that hit a couple days ago is about to heap some snow upon us here in the Twin Cities. Here's a picture I found on the SeattleTimes website - taken in Woodinville, a 1/2 mile from my parent's house, not far from where I used to catch the bus last summer. I was a little shocked at this picture. I have never seen water in this intersection like this. I hope everyone is okay.

Woodinville was pretty much closed for the day. They ran out of road closed signs. The North Creek in the Bothell business park also flooded, so the road by the YMCA was closed, too. The road to my workplace, 220th street, was also closed, so I got to stay home yesterday and bake rusks. So I did not suffer. Milt had taken the bus, so he was fine too. The picture this morning was of them cleaning up piles of mud under the trestle into Woodinville. So the creek crested yesterday and they hope to get it opened maybe today.
ReplyDeleteThe road to Portland I-5 is closed. You have to go over the mountain passes to Yakima to get to Portland. What a mess!

Yes, "mess" does describe it.
