Eric and Anne decided that 2008 would be different, so they drove a car from St. Paul to Seattle this weekend. They broke down in Billings Montana, and now it looks like they will leave the car in Billings, drive a rental to Seattle, and return for the car at a later date. Fortunately, Dad lives nearby so they had family to visit while they became the latest family victims of the Continental Divide.
Such great memories! Thanks for the reminder.

Anne and I were just discussing which part of Montana we would break down in next summer, and I think we've settled on Red Lodge. There are relatives there, and we figured we would spread the wealth a bit, as getting assistance from Dad on 3 straight summers may be too much for one man to handle.
ReplyDeleteDad says, "I really don't mind helping, in fact I live for it. Why not schedule a visit and then nothing bad will happen, according to Murphy. It was great to see Eric and Anne. The car didn't look so good."

Well, yeah! Everyone knows that if you don't throw salt at the people in the back seat, do a Chinese fire drill and dance the macarena on the hood when you cross the Divide you get 18 years of bad luck. Sheesh, you're so uneducated. :P
